Questions skippers ask
Does Neptivum work without internet?
Yes. Voyages, GPS tracks and log entries are saved on the device and sync when you are back in range. Live forecasts and AIS need a connection; with Pro you can download an offshore pack for your route before you go.
Is the free plan really free?
Yes, with no time limit and no cap on voyages or everyday entries. You need Pro only for a second boat or the Pro features listed above.
What does Pro cost?
Choose monthly, annual or a one-time lifetime purchase. New subscribers get the first week of the monthly plan free. The price and any tax are shown before you pay, here or in the app store.
Is it a navigation app?
No. Neptivum is a logbook and boat-management app. It shows your track, speed and course, but it is not a chartplotter or a collision-avoidance aid. Navigate with approved charts and instruments, and keep a proper lookout.
Does it replace an official logbook?
No. It supports your records but does not replace a logbook that your flag state, insurer, harbour or local authority requires. Where one is required, transfer the important entries to it.
Which boats does it suit?
Sailing yachts and motorboats of most kinds. Choose from 22 boat types, from dinghies and RIBs to bluewater yachts, catamarans, trawlers and motor yachts. With Pro, set up the rig, sails and machinery your boat really has.
Can my crew use it?
Yes. Invite them to your boat and, on your Pro plan, they can add entries from their own phones, each signed in with their own account.
Can I get my data out?
Pro exports a PDF dossier, season logbook and reports, plus XLSX, GPX, CSV and a full JSON backup. If Pro ends, the full data backup stays available.
What happens if I stop paying for Pro?
Your records stay. Boats you already have keep syncing and remain readable; you just cannot add Pro-only entries or another boat.
Where is my data kept?
On your device first. When you sign in, records sync over an encrypted connection to EU-hosted servers. Your position is recorded only during a voyage you choose to track.
Which devices and languages are supported?
iPhone and iPad, free. Apple Watch with a paired iPhone, plus the desktop and web apps, with Pro. The app and this site are available in 33 languages.
